Gold is very much a conflict metal and cause of much environmental destruction. We need to rethink its almost totally unnecessary place in our societies.

Canada's government mint spent years marketing "clean gold" while apparently accepting laundered cartel money from Colombia. The irony of that branding is so thick you could mint it into a coin.
