This has been on my mind, and I'm glad @shaneharris.bsky.social explained it so eloquently. The White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting was not a security failure. Like the attempt on Trump at his golf club, the security perimeter worked precisely as it should.
Everything read said security functioned as intended. The shooter was stopped at a checkpoint.
