good to see pushback against facilitated communication, which is a mixture of delusion, desperation, and evil. Was quite disturbed to find intelligent people I knew in the UK suckered by it! (fortunately without any autistic kids of their own)

If you didn't know, maybe the biggest podcast phenomenon of the last year was a "non-fiction" show called "The Telepathy Tapes" about how non-verbal autistic people maybe just maybe have... MAGIC POWERS. So glad that people are standing up to this toxic nonsense.

I object to the author's adoption of "profound autism" because we do not need a new label to describe people with high support needs, but all her critiques of #facilitatedcommunication are valid and important.
