I don't think this is necessarily true - Iran's economy is in tatters.
Because the choice is between complete collapse or extorting $300bn a year of foreign currency, it's not a particularly difficult choice to hold fast and wait until Trump blinks.

Despite all the talk about Iran resilience, the country is ruined.
But he IRGC can just steal the country from the citizens. The question is how to prevent Iran from becoming another rogue state full with slaves -like North Korea.
