It’s been pretty clear that Margins Go Up was the #1 focus of the new regime, so this isn’t a huge surprise. It has to be maddening for the remnants of studios that survive to see a return to 1st party exclusivity in parallel with punishingly aggressive margin targets. Nearly impossible to succeed.

It was clear from Day One that this was a major part of why new leadership had been brought in. Boost margins above all else. It will further dampen enthusiasm for the XBox ecosystem, but that certainly seems like an outcome they are comfortable with for the foreseeable future.
