Here's an agitation: instead of opposing this, DSA and their allies should recruit people to sign up for the NYPD. The left should be contesting for control of the institutions, not ceding territory to our opponents.

Between rebooting violent homeless encampment sweeps, backtracking on helping on transfolk and now wanting to expand centralized policing, when do we admit that Mamdani has absolutely failed to behave like the socialist he pretends to be?

I understand value in incremental in this case - but the left pushing harder is good. Beyond pushing - the left needs to create political cover and provide paths to reducing headcount. Ignore headcount for the new borough command - propose some precinct mergers. propose scope reductions.
