Yankees’ Cody Bellinger honors firefighting father on 25th commemoration of 9/11

Cody Bellinger couldn’t say for sure if 9/11 influenced his dad’s decision to become a firefighter — he’s never asked him — but he made sure to honor his pops by wearing an FDNY cap on Friday night. Players and coaches had a choice to rep either the FDNY or NYPD.

Cody Bellinger will wear an FDNY cap tonight. It's a tribute to his father, Clay, who played for the #Yankees in 2001, accompanied them to Ground Zero after 9/11, and later became a firefighter.
