I am proud of the work the Elias Law Group team did to twice defeat what David French called the "corrupt machinations of the Missouri case" in the Supreme Court.
I can assure him and you, we will fight the GOP's plan to rig and subvert the midterm election. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/13/o...

The constitutional litigator and ex-Republican @davidfrenchjag.bsky.social details how the “corrupt machinations” of Missouri Republicans show “exactly how MAGA attempts to fix elections” and that the Republican Party’s “perfidy is limited only by its creativity.”

The real date for us to be ready for is Jan 3, when Mike Johnson refuses to seat the people the voters have sent to Congress.
Even if you know the full story of what transpired in Missouri regarding the Congressional maps, this is worth reading. The dishonest and corrupt methods MAGA uses to circumvent the law and voting rights are truly a cynical attack on our democracy.
The Missouri election map case is much worse than you may have thought. The MO Sec'y of State deliberately broke the law and court order using slimy "legalese" and public ignorance of the law to do so. Only when threatened with contempt of the court - did he back down.
This details the scheme.

You should read this. It’s an important and well written article describing the Republican attempt in MO to minimize their black voter impact on elections. 1/5

David French’s not so sanguine take on the MO wildness.
Once upon a time state Secretaries of State occupied the sleepiest, dullest offices in the country.

"Novel legal theories" - bullshit!
Bent right wing lawyers have flights of fancy and the media labels them, politely, "novel legal theories."
The right wing will not stop, for anything, until they crash an election - why? Because they share trump's insanity.

Republicans can't win free & fair elections—their president and policies are overwhelmingly unpopular. The overwhelming majority of US citizens want to live in a democracy; not a dictatorship with no regard for the rule of law.
So the Republicans cheat. Endlessly.

Indeed, a wild ride and one we are likely to see again. We need the state courts to guard our right to fair elections. Preying on public ignorance and employing legal complexity is the game in motion now. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/13/o...

This is a clear and excellent summary of the playbook for November elections. We are a hair's breath away from a constitutional crisis over who enforces the laws if a state decides to go rogue: www.nytimes.com/2026/09/13/o...
November will be the cruelest month, breeding MAGA obscenities out of its fevered imagination, mixing cupidity and blatantness, stirring insurrection with "corrupt machinations...perfidy...[and] creativity".
@davidfrenchjag.bsky.social is warning us. It's on us if we don’t heed him.
"The law and the voters stand against MAGA, but they did in 2020 as well...that was the year we were one Mike Pence yes away from the gravest constitutional crisis since the South Carolina secession convention of December 1860 effectively launched the Civil War."

Trump and his MAGA Morons will do ANYTHING to put the fix in. Remember Trump’s cheating pledge entreaty just last week: “cheat like hell" to keep Congress red.

Hoskins falsely named an innocent bystander as the 2024 Chiefs parade shooter and an illegal immigrant. That man sued for defamation, died last year, and his estate is still pursuing it. Same willingness to assert something false and sort it out later.
