it is not surprising or new at all but it this level of public, overt racism by a world leader is still wild to me www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
Could this all be a dream? 1 Lula's improbable comeback win 2 Flavio Bolsonaro flees to the US 3 Netanyahu....loses??? www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
55.7% by 4 p.m., the highest at that hour since Israel started tracking in 1973. Nobody stands in line like that to keep the status quo. Netanyahu's spent years surviving by splitting the opposition. Today the voters showed up in one direction. Polls close at 10.
The man trying to unseat Netanyahu, Gadi Eisenko is the creator of the “Dahiya doctrine” an Israeli military strategy involving the large-scale destruction of Palestinian civilian infrastructure. The propaganda that things will change in Israel is rich. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
This may be the best possible outcome if you care about ending the war. Neither party has a clear path to victory, except with Arab parties, which gained seats in the Knesset. Hopefully Netanyahu is done and a coalition including the Arab parties offers a path out. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
Netanyahu’s Likud party wanted to extend voting hours. The Central Election Committee said no. 2 hours until polls close. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
Let’s go Israel ! 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 “Israeli exit polls showed on Tuesday that the opposition bloc, led by Gadi Eisenkot, held a slight lead over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc, with neither winning a parliamentary majority.”
Three Israeli exit polls suggest that Binyamin Netanyahu has lost the confidence of Israeli voters, his coalition bloc losing over 25% of its seats. We congratulate the Israelis who've been battling against authoritarianism since January 2023. 1/ www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
"Israel’s political parties have finalized their candidate slates ahead of a general election on Oct. 27, which many Israelis and outside observers consider to be the most consequential vote in the country’s history."
No clear winner in Israeli vote as exit polls indicate a bloc of opposition parties, including two predominantly Arab parties, appeared to be leading over Netanyahu’s Likud party and his allies. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10... Netanyahu told Israelis to prepare for the end of billions of dollars of annual American assistance. “It’s over,” he said. “It’s only a matter of time.”

Great news today!
Actually no! Both rivals are claiming triumph, but there’s no clear winner & counting will take days. “Addressing supporters after midnight, Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eisenkot, both expressed confidence that they will lead Israel’s next government. *Note: Vote counting could take days.
Israel's Palestinian Arab parties have won 17-18 Knesset seats, their highest total ever. Despite Netanyahu's racist assertion that "Arabs are trying to steal the election (shades of DJT), any prime minister will need Arab support to assemble 61 seat Knesset majority www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
Israeli Exit Polls Show Strength of Opposition to Netanyahu but No Clear Winner A bloc of opposition parties, including two predominantly Arab parties, appeared to be leading over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party and his allies.

Anti Netanyahu parties look to have massive majority- but Israeli Jewish opposition parties may throw that away because they say they won't form a govt with arab parties. Pure racism even among anti-Netanyahu Jewish Israelis www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
The leader of the Democrats party, Yair Golan, declared victory for the opposition bloc on Tuesday night that includes his party, asserting that the election results show the Israeli public has “fired Netanyahu and Likud.” www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
'Turnout appeared to be particularly high among Arab citizens, who make up about a fifth of Israel’s population. Responding to the high turnout in largely Arab towns, Mr. Netanyahu accused Arab citizens of “trying to steal the elections"' -_- www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...

Don’t get too excited yet. This is not Labor v Likud like in the old days. This is more like the Bush GOP v MAGA. It’s far from a lock that Eisenkot is going to bring the Arab parties in—and from all signs he would need them to form a governing coalition. Watch this space…
Hopefully the fascist, expansionist Netanyahu/Ben-Gvir is out, there could still be hope for Israel if a new government reverses the genocidal policies and ethnic cleansing of Likud and its allies, and conforms to international law (hopefully extraditing Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir to the ICC).

Arab citizens comprise nearly a fifth of Israel’s population and have historically voted at significantly lower rates than Jewish Israelis in national elections. But experts expect these voters to turn out in force, driven to unseat a policymakers who target them. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
