How Elon Musk Turned on Ukraine

The story that the Atlantic doesn't have: how FBI agents tracked a Russian influence operation targeting Musk, concluded it was being run by Putin himself, and sounded the alarm bells. Only to have Christopher Wray say "never mind." www.theatlantic.com/national-sec...

Written before Vladimir Putin gave his speech this morning in Moscow planting a big wet kiss on his "friend and ally" Elon Musk, whom he called a "genuine genius." What he meant to say of course is "our stooge." www.theatlantic.com/national-sec...

Per "a Reuters report that cited Pentagon documents, [this spring] US forces used Starshield to pilot their drones for strikes against Iran. When SpaceX found out, it raised the price for Starshield service in that region from roughly $5,000 per terminal per month to $25,000." The Pentagon paid it.

"the company could block Ukraine’s access entirely. Musk’s statements appear to countenance that. But Stepanets noted that such a move could blow up in Musk’s face. “Radical blackouts and humanitarian catastrophes make for a very bad public image,” www.theatlantic.com/national-sec...

Musk is a war profiteer. He poses as opposed to Ukraine’s using his satellites in its defense against Russia and then charges Ukraine exorbitant rates. If Ukraine loses to Putin, it’ll be on Musk’s account. Add that to the human toll of destroying USAID. www.theatlantic.com/national-sec...

“On October 11, a confidential memo went out to military officers across Ukraine, urging them to brace for a catastrophe…the memo foresaw another act of American betrayal: the loss of access to the Starlink network, which Ukraine uses to operate its drone fleet” www.theatlantic.com/national-sec...
